Maritime Search and Rescue 2018: Developing Capabilities for SAR Operations
Increasing vessel traffic, developments in technology and extreme environmental conditions are forcing response units to review and increase their Maritime Search and Rescue capabilities.
Now in its third year, Maritime Search and Rescue 2018, Chaired by Chris Reynolds, Director, Irish Coast Guard, will focus on increasing capabilities for operations in austere environments. The meeting will share new innovations, strategies and equipment to help increase preparations for specialised rescue operations facing Maritime Search and Rescue organisations.
The meeting will additionally look at collaborative opportunities for procurement, research and technology, including communications, command and control and deployment of new/ different platforms to enable faster, safer rescues.
Maritime Search and Rescue professionals will have an opportunity to discover innovative equipment and capabilities to improve preparations for specialised rescue operations, including but not limited to oil spills and mass rescue.
The pre-conference Airborne Assistance in SAR Operations focus day will explore the challenges, capabilities and solutions available to deploy airborne assistance in search and rescue operations, before the main 2-day conference takes place.
